Cheesy garlic breadsticks offer a perfect blend of crispy edges and a soft, cheesy centre, enhanced by the rich taste of garlic butter. These breadsticks are an ideal side dish or snack, providing a flavourful complement to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 300 g Bread Flour strong white
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 7 g Yeast fast-action dried
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 200 ml Water warm

For the topping:

  • 50 g Butter unsalted, melted
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 100 g Mozzarella Cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the yeast with the warm water and olive oil. Allow it to sit for a few minutes until foamy.
  • Pour the yeast mixture into the flour mixture and mix until it forms a dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) or Gas Mark 6.
  • Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a long rope shape and place them on a lined baking tray.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and minced garlic.
  • Brush the garlic butter over the top of each breadstick.
  • Sprinkle the grated mozzarella sover the breadsticks, then sprinkle with dried oregano.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
