Ingredients

  • 250 g Pasta (any shape of your choice)
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 400 g Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Dried Basil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • Basil to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan. Cook until softened and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Pour in the tin of chopped tomatoes, dried oregano, and dried basil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Allow the sauce to simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it has thickened slightly.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing until evenly coated.
  • Serve the tomato pasta hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
