For busy weeknights, make this delicious chicken rogan josh recipe prepared in the Kashmiri style that is so popular in Indian restaurants and curry houses.
Once the spices are cooked add 2 tablespoons of water and cook for another 3-4 minutes (See Note 2)
Add the chicken and cook for 6-8 minutes until the chicken changes colour
Add 300ml water and stir before covering and cook for 20 minutes on medium heat (See Note 3)
Add the butter then gently stir and allow the butter to melt completely. (See Note 4)
Garnish with finely chopped coriander.
Serve with homemade rice or naan bread and enjoy!
Notes
Note 1 – Traditionally, a rogan josh tends to be spicy. However, in my recipe, I have not made it as spicy. If you want to have it spicy, I suggest adding a few green chillies.Note 2 – Adding water at this point will release all the colours from the spices.Note 3 – Ensure that you stir every few minutes so that nothing sticks to the pan.Note 4 – You can either use unsalted butter or ghee, which is unclarified butter.Nutritional facts:The provision of nutritional information is done so merely as a courtesy and should not be taken as a guarantee.
